This year, Polish Association NI in Association with Czech and Slovak Association NI has sought to broaden the scope and ambition of the festival by joining forces with other eastern European countries to create a larger festival: Fabrika - Festival of Eastern Europe. The countries involved include Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic,. Northern Ireland has welcomed many migrants from these countries over the last number of years - migrants who have come here to work, to study, to play, to live - basically those same things that all humans seek to do whether Irish, British, Estonian or Czech. And so Fabrika aims to celebrate these common traits and aspirations of our fellow humans and our fellow Europeans. And it will do this in a week-long festival of cultural and community-based events celebrating our diversity and commonality as Europeans.
